GO Outdoors is continuing to expand and is soon to be opening a store in the Beehive Centre in Cambridge. Being part of a store management team during a new store opening is a challenging yet exciting opportunity to set the new store up for success by helping with the training of store processes and helping the new store team bond.
About the Role
Do you want to be part of the management team in a large retail store which is truly unique within it’s sector? Do you have the drive and passion to help lead and motivate your store team to deliver the company mission of ‘inspiring everyone to get outdoors for less – and love it as much as we do’? Our Department Managers create an exceptional customer service culture by ensuring the Store Colleagues deliver excellent service and exceed customer expectations. We will give you the tools you need to be able to empower you and your team to drive a sales culture in which our customers are confident they are purchasing what they need to get the most from their adventure!
As our business is incredibly fast paced, we look for Department Managers with a proven track record of having a ‘hands on’ approach. You will need to have had experience of working within and helping to lead high performing teams to include all aspects of recruitment, performance and talent management. You should have a pro-active nature when it comes to solving problems as you will be the most senior person in store on most of your shifts and the ability to challenge the accepted way of doing things when you see improvements can be made.
Our Department Managers are brand ambassadors for GO, who grow the retail brand in the local community by engaging with groups and schools.
About the Company
We welcome everyone to our stores with open and enthusiastic arms, as we are the only outdoor retailer to offer good, better and best choices from all of our product ranges. We are still growing, opening new stores every year and continually trying to improve them each time we do. We welcome applicants from all walks of life as we aim to attract and develop diversity within our teams.
Some of the perks of working for us are a company pension scheme, childcare vouchers, 25 days holiday, access to discounts from a wide range of retailers and our own generous staff discount. We also offer a free Employee Assistance Programme in partnership with the Retail Trust.
