We continue to open new stores across the country stretching from Inverness to Plymouth and have exciting plans to grow our reach even further.

We love the fantastic range of products we have on offer, whether it’s a waterproof jacket for walking the dog or specialist kit for horse riding or rock climbing, our customers come to us for the biggest brands at the best prices.

As a team we are enthusiasts who are passionate about great service and will do our best for our customers. We have a friendly and positive nature and love to advise our customers on outdoor equipment and clothing. Working for GO has inspired many of our colleagues to try out our fantastic kit, and finding their love for the outdoors!

There are various roles within our store teams including Store Managers, Department Managers, and Store Colleagues.

Jane - Store Colleague

I have worked for GO for 16 months in a variety of different roles, starting in the clothing department and then moving to camping for the summer which also includes back packs. At the moment I am doing cash up in the mornings and then being used in various different departments throughout the day where required.

We are encouraged to learn about products from all departments in the store which gives a better overall customer experience and keeps the job interesting as new products arrive all the time.

I have always been interested in outdoor activities, I ski, cycle and walk so coming to work for GO Outdoors seemed to be an obvious choice.

My favourite part of the job is talking to the customers about their up and coming trips (which have included Everest Base Camp, Ice walks, Northern Lights etc. etc.) and also encouraging our younger customers who come in to kit themselves out for their DofE awards.

I can honestly say that no two days are the same and that there is always something to do or learn at GO.

Matt - Regional Manager

Having initially opened the Plymouth Store in 2011, I'm currently the Regional Manager for the South, responsible for 14 stores and a team of over 500 colleagues, My role is to coach and support our colleagues in delivering the highest levels of customer service, with a team that are passionate and highly motivated about having fun and adventure in the outdoors.

After spending time working for a retailer that I had no affinity to the product I wanted to work for a company where I could share my passion for people development as well as product, GO allows me to do this. We have some fantastic colleagues in our stores and the customers love visiting them, all in all a great place to work and shop.

My favourite part of my role has to be the interaction with the people, spending time on the shop floor with the customers and colleagues helping others to enjoy the great experience you get from our stores. I also love the variety, one day you can be climbing in the Peak District learning about the latest gear we sell, and the next you are helping to recruit for a new store.

Liam - Department Manager

I have worked for GO for 8 years.

I am currently a Department manager, and accountable for the sales floor and my team. I first joined GO when I was at college and wanting to do some of part-time work. Ever since that day I've never looked back, being a motivated person I've always wanted to become a manager at GO. I first started as a sales assistant and my job was to serve customers and work stock. I then got the opportunity to work in the store's warehouse for a couple of years and was then given full control over the warehouse and managed two other colleagues. My next journey was as a key holder, I was accountable for opening and closing the store when needed and also managing the whole store as duty manger, dealing with any issues along the way. My next career move was one that I wanted from the start, after working so hard across my other roles I got the chance to become a Department Manager. Last year I had the opportunity to open a new store in Nottingham as a Department Manager, working with lots of new faces and learning a lot about myself as a manager. After 5 months at our new Nottingham store I've come back to Loughborough an enhanced manager.

After shopping with GO in the past I loved how customer focused they are as a company. I am an outdoors person that loves walking around the Peak District on a sunny day taking in the British countryside and wearing all of our fantastic gear. I love the products we sell in store, catering for all kinds of enthusiastic outdoor people from dog walkers to someone who’s planning a Ben Nevis climb.

My favourite part of my role has got to be working with the team, GO has always had that "family" feel about it and I’m sure it always will. As a store we work together to put our customers first in any way possible so that they can "get outdoors for less and love it as much as we do".
